Summary of Position: Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activity within the college. Oversee the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of grants, supervise personnel, develop and encourage academic policy and programs for the college. Direct and assist in the planning of curriculum and academic programs. Review and approve the college budget. Serve on the Deans Council and other committees as needed and/or assigned.

Required Education: A terminal degree in one of the disciplines within the College of Arts, Sciences & Education disciplines. Academic credentials and experience sufficient to qualify for tenure status in one of the departments/schools within the college.  
Required Work Experience: Demonstrated work experience in higher education, to include teaching as well as scholarship, research, or creative endeavors. At least three years of demonstrated successful experience in academic administration, including evidence of an ability to: recruit, lead and serve a large and diverse faculty, staff, and student body; promote general and globalized education; and support education in a variety of delivery modes and learning environments. Demonstrated progression of responsibilities, including comprehensive administrative skills, communication, supervision, fundraising, and budget management. Personal qualities of integrity, organization, and industriousness.  
Required Licenses and Certifications:    
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Five or more years’ experience in academic administration. Experience in interdisciplinary and/or inter-professional education. Proven record of collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Prior experience working in a collective bargaining environment.  
Duties/Responsibilities: Ensure a high level of service to students.
Direct and coordinate the activity of department leadership within the college.
Work collaboratively within the college and across the university to implement and support programs and services that enhance the university’s mission and goals.
Pursuant to policies and regulations, review and approve specific college budgets.
In collaboration with the University’s Strategic Plan develop and manage College Strategic Plan.
In collaboration with other departments and divisions develop and manage College Enrollment and Retention Plans.
In collaboration with the Provost Office and the Diversity and Inclusion Office develop and manage College Diversity and Inclusion Plan.
Advise the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs on academic matters, such as accreditation needs, development and assessment of academic programs, budget and personnel matters.
Provide leadership for college fundraising efforts, including grant writing and advancement.
Promote and support program advisory boards and alumni relations.
Ensure that university and academic policies and procedures are followed.
Work with accreditation agencies to achieve and maintain compliance and standards.
Establish necessary communications and coordination with college personnel on all matters within their assigned responsibilities, through written and oral communications.
Advocate College priorities to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Analyze challenges within the college and recommend solutions.
Work effectively with faculty and staff in program planning, assessment, and curriculum development.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws.
Develop and implement academic policy for the College.
Pursuant to policies, procedures and regulations and in collaboration with Human Resources, prepare and manage the College’s hiring process to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
Provide leadership and vision for instructional activity within the College.
Serve on Deans Council and other committees/councils as assigned.
Report directly to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Maintain the confidentiality of designated information.
Manage and supervise assigned staff.
