Position Title: Associate Registrar  
Location: Big Rapids (Main Campus)  
Advertised Salary: $48,000-$50,000 - Salary commensurate with education, experiences and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)  
FLSA: Exempt

Summary of Position: Under the general direction of the Registrar, coordinate the administrative duties and responsibilities of the Registrar’s Office and associated staff and work independently with the Athletic Department in eligibility matters relating to student athletes and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.  
Position Type: Staff  
Required Education: Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or University.  
Required Work Experience: Two years work experience in an office setting where data organization and accuracy and attention to detail are important.  
Required Licenses and Certifications:    
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Master’s Degree.

Professional work experience in higher education, preferably within enrollment services or academic affairs. Professional experience with NCAA, especially eligibility regulations. Understanding and experience with student system software such as Banner.
 
Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Supervise, coordinate, train and serve as a back up to Registrar’s Office staff
2. Collaborate with Academic Affairs to review and implement curriculum
3. Provide training and Banner support to campus community
4. Manage and process Registrar Office related processes such as graduation, initial participation, direct credit entry, website maintenance and workflow etc.
5. Serve as a Registrar’s Office representative on various committees
6. Maintain and in-depth knowledge of applicable university, state and federal policies and compliance regulations.
7. Evaluate current practices and procedures to find efficiencies and work on special projects to execute.
8. Serve as the University athletic administrative liaison to develop, recommend, and implement various policies and procedures relating to the NCAA player eligibility.
9. Coordinate NCAA player eligibility between the athletic, academic and student affairs departments. Works cooperatively with all University departments to insure compliance.
10. Serve as certifying official of Ferris State for NCAA eligibility and as one of the University employees who are authorized to contact the NCAA.
11. Review student records to determine athletic eligibility or ineligibility. Approve student class changes to insure compliance with NCAA. Work with faculty and academic advisors to resolve problems.
12. Prepare and sign a variety of University detailed reports and rosters as required by NCAA.
13. Advise and/or train University employees on various NCAA issues.
14. Maintain in-depth knowledge, evaluate and interpret federal and NCAA requirements
to insure University compliance. Utilize the NCAA legislative database to research, analyze and make various interpretations based on that data.
15. Analyze reports and data for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies in accordance with various University, federal or NCAA procedures/policies/regulations.
