| Summary of Position: |
The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a pool of outstanding applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in business and management. Faculty are expected to create meaningful, student-centered learning experiences, provide academic advising, and incorporate current technology into their instruction.
The successful candidate will contribute to curricular development, participate in assessment of student learning, and support ongoing program enhancement. We seek someone who is committed to engaging students beyond the classroom, supporting existing academic initiatives, and mentoring students beyond traditional advising expectations.
Faculty are also expected to engage in scholarly or professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. Courses will be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
The anticipated start date is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. |

If the doctorate is in a closely related field, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Management courses are required.

Entrepreneurial or small business management experience.

Demonstrated ability to engage students outside the classroom (e.g., study abroad, field experiences, coordinating academic centers).
MBA degree. |

| Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Teach a full-time course load during the 9-month academic year, including possible off-campus or online instruction.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in university committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
Participate in student recruitment efforts throughout the year, including Dawg Days, Admitted Student Days, and outreach visits to high schools or career and technical centers; some Saturday events may be required.
Serve on program committees and represent the program(s) on College and University committees.
Maintain records and conduct assessment, advising, and all other administrative features of the position in accordance with policies and procedures developed by the university, college, school, department, and/or program.
Contribute to curricular development and help advance new academic initiatives. Remain current in the discipline through professional development, scholarly activity, and active involvement with relevant professional organizations; may serve as a program liaison when appropriate.
