Travel is required, including some evenings and/or weekends. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Valid Driver's License. At least 2 – 4 years of professional, relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. |

Full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty position. The successful applicant will assume duties in patient care and teaching in the clinic, classroom, and laboratories. The faculty member will be expected to develop in the areas of patient care, teaching/advising, scholarly/professional activities, and service. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising graduate professional students, participation in university and professional committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is December 2024 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest. Required: At the time of appointment, the applicant must hold the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and must either have completed an accredited optometric residency or have an equivalent degree or experience in patient care. At the time of appointment, the applicant must have or be eligible to obtain a Michigan optometry license with DPA and TPA certifications and be eligible for appointment to the clinical staff of the college. At least one year of residency experience, or 5 years of consistent clinical experience post-graduation if no residency was completed, or commensurate work/professional experience. |

The Director of Flint Operations provides administrative leadership for the Extended and International Operations (EIO) activities in Genesee, Saginaw, and Lapeer, Michigan counties, including partner locations in the region. Responsible for the region's undergraduate and graduate credit degree programming and building relationships with the region's community colleges, businesses, associations, and chamber groups. Responsible for ensuring that the off-campus locations meet the needs of its students, faculty, and staff. Work with academic colleges to support faculty recruitment and are responsible for selecting, training, supervising, and mentoring individuals reporting to the position to deliver quality programming and positive student learning experiences. Collaborate with academic and administrative units to achieve strategic planning goals and identify and implement new programs and delivery sites. It may also be required as a resource in the area for non-credit activities. This position involves significant travel to various regional locations, including meetings, events, and other activities related to off-campus operations. The anticipated start date for this position is October 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in business, education, or a related field. The requirements listed represent the required knowledge, skill, and/or ability. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of full-time related work experience equals one year of education. Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time. Five years of successful, full-time work experience with educational outreach activities in higher education and/or business and industry settings are required.
