Position Title: Director, Auxiliary Business Operations  
Location: Big Rapids (Main Campus)

Summary of Position: Provide guidance and oversight in the areas of budgeting, financial and operational protocols for all areas within Auxiliary Enterprises. Provide direct support to the Bookstore and Printing Services for day to day operations.

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.  
Required Work Experience: Five years of related work experience with two years in a supervisory capacity. Experience in several of the following areas: Project Management, Bookstore or Retail, Budgeting, Inventory Management, POS Systems, Auditing, Blackboard Transact or similar system, Banner ERP or similar system.  
Required Licenses and Certifications:    
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Master’s Degree, CASP Certification.

Experience in higher education or similar industry; experience working with revenue generating operations.
Duties/Responsibilities: Participate in the development of the overall auxiliary budget and monitor that fiscal expenditures and fund transfers are in accordance with the budget and University accounting policies and procedures.
Perform a variety of financial analyses that identify trends and recommendations to help inform decision making and forecasts.
Review and/or develop internal controls and cash handling procedures for auxiliary operations including Bookstore, Printing Services, Katke Golf Course, Racquet and Fitness Center, Early Learning Center, and Dining Services. Review and perform audits on an ongoing basis.
Review and/or develop inventory management processes and procedures for auxiliary operations including Bookstore, Printing Services, Katke Golf Course, and Racquet and Fitness Center. Provide oversight of inventory management processes including procurement, inventory control, pricing, and SKU/PLU maintenance.
Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of new processes and procedures for Auxiliary operations.
Develop, maintain, and distribute monthly and ad-hoc reports as needed.
Plan, direct, and manage special projects as assigned..
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws.
Report directly to the Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Enterprises.
