Location: Big Rapids (Main Campus)  
Advertised Salary: $15.40 - $19.60 - hourly rate pursuant to the FSU and CTA/MEA-NEA Agreement  
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position: This position is responsible for operating digital print software and equipment, assists customers with their print projects via telephone calls, answering emails and in-person visits, calculates and prepares quotes for projects, contacts customers as needed to consult regarding their projects, works with student assistants to complete work and assist customers, performs periodic closeouts and other duties as part of an energetic, dynamic team.

Equivalency for education is two years of related work experience equals one year of education.
 
Required Work Experience: One year of work experience in a print shop or similar environment performing a variety of duplicating duties and customer service interactions. Prior experience with managing details and multiple tasks. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.  
Required Licenses and Certifications:    
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: - Some education or training in graphic design
- Basic skills in the use of various computer programs such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and knowledge of basic office programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher,etc.
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to count money, make change and prepare deposits with accuracy
 
Duties/Responsibilities: - Properly interpret job specifications – notify manager or other team members in the case of inaccurate project specifications.
- Organizes workload based on due dates and other factors to ensure projects are to bindery and complete in a timely manner.
- Operate digital printers using high-speed scanners and computer programs.
- Input, retrieve, download, merge, output and maintain information to access various software programs and systems.
- Prepare work for printing, utilizing the appropriate process with regard to the number of reproductions, quality desired, and budget.
- Limited use of programs to make changes and corrections to files as needed
- Assign, train and supervise student employees as needed
- Assist answering multi-line phones; assist in serving customers, and perform duties in a manner that provide excellent service and that is responsive to customer needs.
- Work to assure the excellent quality and completion of the completed product.
- Assist in documenting and developing work processes
- Recognize, analyze, trouble-shoot and make minor repairs to equipment. Contact service personnel, provide a detailed explanation of the problem and arrange for repair.
- Perform Regular maintenance and cleaning of all assigned equipment
- Assure the security of tests and confidential materials.
- Maintain the confidentiality of designated information.
- Assist to open and/or close facility.
- Report directly to assigned supervisor.
- Responsible for the quality of work completed.
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Independently process a job to completion meeting timelines and deadlines.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance and repairs on specialized machinery.
- Train and supervise student employees.
- Answer multi-line telephones, route calls, take messages, schedule appointments, and respond to or refer inquiries.
- Greet students, faculty, staff, visitors and/or clients and provide required assistance, or refer to proper source for assistance.
- Schedule meetings and appointments with customers
- Make simple copies for customers as needed.
- Perform transactions on cash register, balance daily cash drawer, prepare deposits along with a variety of transactions for accounting records
- Monitor department emails, initiate work orders, and respond to customer inquiries
- Carry out these responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws

- Organizational communication, presentation and detail-oriented production skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members at both a business and technical level in a positive manner
- Plan, Organize and make sound judgements and decisions
- Work effectively with a diverse group of employees, students and customers.
- Requires lifting 50 lbs or less.
- Requires standing/sitting for extended periods of time.
