Summary of Position: The Department of Electrical Engineering & Computing Technology (EET/CNS) invites applications for a 9-month, tenured-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level. Primary responsibilities include: preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met; and delivering courses in both classroom and an on-line format. Additionally, advising students, internship coordination, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the university. Teaching at regional satellite campuses may also be required, as well as working with student organizations. Faculty in the EET/CNS program are expected to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum, in both lower and upper undergraduate division courses. Topics include but not limited to: PLC, motion control, controls systems, digital and electronics principles, computer network systems.

Required Education: Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or closely related field.  
Required Work Experience: Minimum of five years related technical work experience; Expert knowledge in programming (PLC, machine code, and/or high-level) and fundamental digital and electronics principles; Motion control and control systems experience; Excellent communication and teaching skills and strong interest in working with students.  
Required Licenses and Certifications:    
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Ph.D., D. Engr, or Practice Terminal preferred; Professional licensure (P.E.).
Expertise and experience in digital electronics, PLC programming and networking, and project management.
Current network and computer related certification CCNA (CISCO instructor).
Prior teaching experience.
Active in professional organizations IEEE and/or ASEE.
Robotics, automation and controls experience.
Duties/Responsibilities: Instruct students in BS Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, AAS Industrial Electronics Technology, BS Computer Networks and Systems, and related programs. Develop and teach graduate courses in Automation and Controls.
Primary responsibility is teaching. Courses may include digital electronics I and II (VHDL based), microprocessors, PLC programming and PLC network design implementation and security, embedded systems, motion control, calculus based network analysis, C++, operating systems, communications, automation, and electrical/electronics principles and circuits.
Develop lecture and laboratory course curricula.
Teaching may also occasionally be required off-campus or on-line.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation, registration, participation in committees (department, college and/or university), keeping regular posted office hours, scheduled at times convenient for students, participation in traditional functions which have academic significance and in-field professional development; this position reports to the Director of the School of Engineering and Computing Technology through the Program Coordinator; It is essential that faculty members should be current in their field of expertise and willing to make the commitment to our students to remain current throughout their career with EET/CNS.
