Summary of Position: The Coordinator will support the Ferris State University 4S Project/KCP MHED Grant by providing both administrative and grant coordination support, advisement to university leaders, and organizational management of both day-to-day programming, assessment, reporting, and future grant-seeking activities. Under the direction of the Dean and advisement form collaborating faculty and staff, the incumbent is responsible for performing various administrative functions, including purchasing, database management, and reporting. They will also serve as a resource to Grant Administrators and Evaluators with respect to grant/contact proposal submissions, financial oversight, evaluation, compliance and daily administrative and operational requirements of the assigned contracts/grants. Daily responsibilities will also include general administrative assistance to students engaged through the 4S Project/KCP-MHED Grant, scheduling of administrative meetings, calendar management, coordinating activities with other departments throughout the University, and developing and leading projects, events, and initiatives designed to deliver on the objectives of the 4S Project/KCP-MHED Grant.

Required Education: Master’s degree in Education or a related field.

Required Work Experience: At least one year related work experience in coordinating college student success programming, leading college retention efforts, grant management, and/or advising.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Five years experience as a grant/project manager with demonstrated pre- and post-award experience and/or 5 years in a supervisor role.  
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Managing and supporting the 4S grant requirements and implementation.

Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables.

Manage an effective budgetary process, which ensures efficient use of grant funds and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.

Coordinate retention and recruitment events and activities.

Coordinate and establish Program Advisory Board inclusive of current students, program alumni, faculty and staff.

Coordinate with Directors of Academic Affairs (DSAAs), academic advisors, academic programs, Educational Counseling and Disability Services, Student Life, and the Academic Literacies Center (ALC) to develop various student retention strategies.

Establish and maintain a meeting schedule for all stakeholders for the 4S Grant.

Write supporting grant proposals that lead to increases in student retention, progression and degree completion.

Produce monthly activity and impact reports.

Actively engage in recruitment and admissions activities.

Design, deliver, evaluate and utilize assessment-based insight to continually improve programming.

Directly report to the Dean

Responsible for performing duties in compliance with Talent Investment Agency (TIA).
