Summary of Position: The School of Design and Manufacturing invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Material Sciences Technology (MATL) program. This position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment. To facilitate this, adjunct faculty are expected to be student-oriented, and able to integrate practical experience and current technology into the learning environment.  
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing  
Master's Degree in Material Science, Metallurgy or similar Engineering discipline.
Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering or similar discipline and five years industry experience.
Required Work Experience: See required education section.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is teaching Material Sciences to under-graduate level students in AS and BS Engineering Technology degree programs:
1. Preparing and delivering course materials utilizing effective methods (lecture and laboratory).
2. Ensuring that all required course outcomes are achieved.
3. Working in close consultation with program faculty.
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities:    
Skills and Abilities: Adjunct faculty are required to participate in traditional functions which have academic significance. All faculty are required to provide regular office hours scheduled at times convenient for students; one office hour per week for each course taught. Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.
