Position Title: Media and Communications Coordinator (Part Time/Temporary) - Central Michigan Recovery and Education Network (CMREN) Grant

Summary of Position: Designs and manages all media and communications including website, social media, and print materials. Provides assistance to Grant Program Director and Principal Investigator as needed. Typical work week is 16 hours.
The anticipated start date for this position is January of 2023. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. This position will run the length of the grant, which ends August 31, 2023.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, public relations, communications, advertising, or public health or related healthcare field.

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of full-time related work experience equals one year of education.
 
Required Work Experience: At least one year experience in healthcare communications, marketing, public relations, or related field that includes contact with the public and professional audiences. Demonstrated writing and presentation development skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and web applications.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Graduate degree in public health or a healthcare-related field. Experience working within a federal grant project.  
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain the CMREN website.
Design, implement, and maintain the CMREN social and digital media campaign.
Design and implement defined data collection methods for campaign effectiveness across the grant-funded period.
Demonstrates focus on SUD/OUD work of CMREN.
Develop media-related analytics and reporting measures for CMREN.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
 
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities:    
Skills and Abilities: Healthcare knowledge, especially as related to Substance Use Disorder and Opioid Use Disorder
Website and social media page design and management
Graphic design basics
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership ability
Ability to set and meet project deadlines
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
