Summary of Position: Provide audio/visual services for assigned areas within the University community while providing a fresh perspective of support strategies.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

 
Required Work Experience: Two years of demonstrated work experience in an audio/video related support position.

 
Required Licenses and Certifications: AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) required within 365 days of employment. Possess a valid driver’s license.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Associate's Degree or two years of completed college coursework in a related field.
Other A/V Industry recognized certification.
Experience in programming A/V control equipment.
Experience with video conferencing systems.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Participate in strategic planning for and replacement of technology enhanced classroom projects, as well as, implementation of new technologies.
2. Assist in annual readiness and evaluation process of all campus locations with all audio/visual needs.
3. Troubleshoot and support the audio/visual needs of university faculty, staff, and students; to include a wide array of video and audio installations.
4. Install and terminate video, audio, cabling, and control systems in an organized manner consistent with industry standards.
5. Test and evaluate various software applications and resolve workstation conflicts.
6. Research, recommend and assist in purchasing, upgrading, replacing any audio/visual related equipment/devices, & implementation of new technologies.
7. Prepare appropriate documentation for ordering materials and monitor progress from acquisition to completion.
8. Strengthen communication within Information Technology Services by developing, editing, collaborating, and documenting audio/visual and computer usage and planning.
9. Train users in the operation and minor adjustment of audio/visual electronic equipment and systems.
10. Participate in the asset lifecycle management of hardware and software.
11. Provide consultation to assist in the design of new audio/visual projects.
12. Install, maintain, coordinate, and communicate audio/visual initiatives with appropriate constituencies.
13. Participate in University-wide audio/visual planning and assessment activities.
14. Assist with continuous quality improvement activities and in the promotion of operation efficiencies.
15. Provide audio/visual and computer support services for assigned area(s) with the University community while providing a fresh perspective of support strategies.
16. Assignments will include some computer technician responsibilities and student employee supervision.
17. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
18. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
 
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Provide distance learning support and troubleshooting, for microphones, control systems, document stations, video/audio equipment, transmission facilities, software, and remote faculty.
2. Design, procure, install, and support audio/visual electronic equipment and systems, tools and fixtures.
3. Maintain a parts inventory for repairs, procuring best purchase price when possible. Initiate repair and maintenance billing, when appropriate, establishing charges and ensuring receipt of payment.
4. Facilitate in webinars using Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
