Summary of Position: |
The School of Education within the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applications for a 9-month adjunct instructor to teach Early Childhood Education courses both on and off campus.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include continuing professional development; participation in curriculum development and university committees; orientation, recruitment, and registration of students; keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.

Master’s Degree with academic preparation in Early Childhood Education.

At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience in preschool or younger.

University teaching experience in Early Childhood Education.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Ability to teach Early Childhood Education core classes on-campus and off-campus, as necessary.
Must be available during the day and some evenings.
Actively participate with department. Attend monthly department meetings. Attend both on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
Fulfill mandatory course semester assessment requirements.
Advise students in Early Childhood Education.
Assist with Accreditation process.
Assist in placement and supervision of Early Childhood Interns.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include continuing professional development; participation in curriculum development and university committees; orientation, recruitment, and registration of students; keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
