Summary of Position: The School of Education seeks candidates to teach on a semester-by-semester, as needed basis, in the areas of elementary and secondary education. Candidates must be available to teach face-to-face or synchronous on-line during the hours of 9 am- 5 pm, with an occasional evening course. May need to supervise students in the field (pre-student teaching and student teaching).

This is a pooled position. One or more candidates may be hired as needed to teach courses on a semester-by-semester basis.

This posting is used for face-to-face and on-line instruction. However, candidates selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.

The start date will be August 2023 or January 2024.

Required Education: Master's degree in Education or closely related field.  
Required Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years teaching at the K-12 level.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Higher education teaching experience.  
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses in elementary and secondary education.

Provide up-to-date course work and course-related materials for accreditation

Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment

Meet classes at their scheduled times and formats.

Effective teaching by way of good communication, assessment of student learning, and adaptation to various levels of preparation.

Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to keeping regular office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient to students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (e. reporting initial participation, submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
