Advertised Salary: $62,000 - $65,000 - Salary commensurate with education, experiences and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)

Summary of Position: This 10-month position (Aug-May) will supervise and manage the daily functions of the Dental Hygiene Clinic, including clinical personnel. Provides oversight of all dental hygiene clinic operations, including relevant clinic policies and procedures. Oversees and enforces the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules/Safeguards as the HIPAA Privacy Officer. Performs duties of the Clinical Dental Hygienist as needed. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2023. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.

Required Education: Master's degree in dental hygiene, health-related field, management, education, or leadership OR a Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, education, or a health-related field with completion of a master's degree in dental hygiene, health-related field, management, education, or leadership within two years of the employment start date.  
Required Work Experience: Two years full-time clinical dental hygiene experience.
Previous experience in education and/or practice management.
 
Required Licenses and Certifications: Registered Dental Hygienist.
Local Anesthesia Certification.
Nitrous Oxide Certification.
Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Certified or Registered Dental Assistant.  
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: -Develop, implement, and coordinate the operational activities of the Dental Hygiene Clinic, including providing orientation and training for students, faculty, and staff.
-Direct clinic activities; coordinate and direct the flow of work and service.
-Interview, select, train, direct, evaluate, and supervise assigned clinic staff, including the Clinical Dental Hygienist (CDH), Dental Hygiene Facilities Coordinator, part-time clinical staff, and the Clinic Clerk.
- Maintain a harmonious and supportive working relationship with all staff and students.
- Establish clinic work schedules and assignments for clinical instructional team members in accordance with workload and clinic hour availability.
- Gather, compile, and evaluate data regarding the clinic instructional experience.
- Represent the Dental Clinic on program, College, and University committees as assigned.
- Update and maintain a current clinic policy and procedure manual.
- Answer inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources and provide explanation and interpretation of the policies, requirements, practices, and procedures of the Dental Hygiene Clinic.
- Maintain report writing function of clinic office software.
- Oversee the financial activities of the clinic.
- Review and analyze the clinic budget; prepare financial reports as appropriate.
- Perform routine functions normally accomplished by other clinical staff/support employees in their absence.
- Assure compliance of OSHA/MIOSHA and Bloodborne Pathogen Regulations in the clinic setting.
- Serve as the HIPAA Officer, including oversight and enforcement of Dental Hygiene HIPAA Privacy Policies and Procedures and Dental Hygiene Clinic HIPAA Security Rule Safeguards.
- Develop/oversee current policies and train the clinical staff in issues relating to patient and student confidentiality, and patient and client record keeping.
- Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
- Assures maintenance and repair of clinic facilities and equipment.
- Perform duties of Clinical Dental Hygienists.
- Maintain Clinical Education Methodology.
- Performs all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
- Reports directly to assigned supervisor.
- Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
- Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

- Considerable knowledge of dental hygiene and dental practices and procedures.
