Summary of Position: |
The Associate Dean works closely with the Dean of the College of Business to provide strategic leadership, academic excellence, and administrative oversight to advance the mission of the College. This individual is responsible for fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and student success while ensuring the College's programs meet the highest academic standards.
The anticipated start date for this position is January of 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Academic Leadership: • Collaborate with the Dean in setting academic goals and strategic priorities for the College of Business. • Engage in college planning and decision-making as a member of the COB Administrative Council. • Promote excellence in teaching, research, and service among faculty members. • Assist in the development and maintenance of academic policies and procedures. • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College. • Fulfill all commitments and duties of the Dean in the event of their absence. Program Management: • Work with department chairs and faculty to identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement. • Assist in curriculum management and review to ensure alignment with industry trends and accreditation standards. • Assure integrity of curricular offerings by coordinating support from departments, COB Student Support staff, and articulation agreements. • Facilitate the development of new degree programs and courses. Student Success and Engagement: • Provide oversight to student recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts. • Participate in student appeal and disciplinary processes, provide academic support as needed. • Promote innovation in student internship opportunities and expectations, includes supervision of COB Internship Coordinator. Resource Management: • Perform some budgetary duties: including review of proposed asset purchases; evaluation of technology requests; and manage requests related to one-time funding, minor capital expenditures, and Perkins funding. • Coordinate utilization, maintenance and enhancement of the COB infrastructure, including facilities, furnishings, and equipment. • Manage the coordination of the awarding of scholarships and COB events. • Assist with faculty external funding opportunities such as grants, donations, and partnerships. Accreditation and Assessment: • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and assist in the accreditation process. • Oversee assessment activities to improve program quality and student learning outcomes. Faculty Development: • Support professional development opportunities for faculty. • Assist in faculty recruitment, evaluation, and promotion processes. Collaboration and Outreach: • Collaborate with other institutional units to facilitate enhancement of curricular offerings. • Foster relationships with local businesses, industry partners, and alumni. • Represent the College at university and external events.
