Summary of Position: |
Full academic year temporary faculty will teach a variety of courses. Assignments may be lectures or labs; face-to-face, blended, or online in Big Rapids. A focus on student success, office hours, and use of current technology are expected.
Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Meet established course outcomes. Plan, deliver and grade all course content and student work for assigned courses. Conduct all classes, labs or other assignments as directed in a professional manner. Position may entail full-time or part-time teaching loads and related activities based upon program need. Attendance at organizational meetings of the program, school or college is highly recommended. Close consultation with program faculty, as well as training via university-provided programs (where appropriate). Approved adjuncts who have not received appointment will be asked to provide a minimum of one lecture or lab delivery per academic year as a demonstration of their interest and an opportunity for adjunct faculty development preparation. Maintain a minimum of one hour per week per course section for office hours to meet with students outside of class or lecture at a time convenient to the students. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include continuing professional development; participation in curriculum development and university committees; orientation, recruitment, and registration of students; and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives. |
