Adjunct Instructor 1 – Reading – Ferris State University. This position has responsibilities for teaching Foundations – Analytical Reading or Analytical Reading at Ferris State University. Instruction will focus on providing students with the opportunity to become critical readers by increasing vocabulary, enhancing reading comprehension and recall, and improving reading skills to better prepare for college level reading. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2024 at the earliest and January 2025 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in Reading, Developmental Education, Special Education or related field. Experience teaching and/or developmental studies at the college or K-12 levels. Experience teaching reading, developmental-level, and/or language arts at the high school and/or post-secondary levels.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Information Security and Intelligence Big Rapids, MI 49307
Part-time teaching and related responsibilities: utilizing face-to-face, blended and/or online modes of delivery; delivery on or off campus; assuring/improving learning through assessment; close consultation with program faculty, as well as training via the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Required is a Master’s degree in IT/IS Security or related field from an accredited college or university, OR Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in IT/IS Security. Five years of industry experience in IT/IS Security related field with direct experience in one of the areas to be taught. Requires certification in the area the candidate will teach, which may include the following relevant security areas: information security; Information assurance; IT security; data mining and analysis; intelligence analysis; penetration testing; network security; visual/link analysis; digital forensics; secure application development; data base; risk assessment; fraud; ethics. Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Big Rapids, MI 49307
Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs – Ferris State University. Reporting to the Dean, and serving as the Chief Academic Officer, the Associate Dean plays an important leadership role in the daily operations and strategy of MCO, providing ongoing program curriculum and course delivery oversight as well as the evaluation and assessment of student learning outcomes and coordination of student services. The Associate Dean oversees all academic and student-related functions at MCO, including oversight of the curriculum, assessment, faculty schedules, student schedules, disciplinary actions, development of policy letters, and faculty and student handbooks. Student affairs duties include oversight of recruitment, admissions, registration, financial aid, recruiting, scholarship and awards, counseling, student records, and student organizations. The Associate Dean serves as a member of the MCO Executive Committee, Student Administrative Committee, Faculty Administrative Committee, and assumes the responsibilities and authority of the Dean when the Dean is unavailable. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Optometry degree (OD) from an ACOE-accredited institution or a clinically-equivalent degree in Ophthalmology (i.e., MD, DO) and be license eligible in the state of Michigan. Successful Associate Dean candidates will have a significant leadership role in graduate-level clinical education with a substantial history of experience in curricular development and innovations, educational assessment, the latest trends in education and experience with accreditation standards. Preferred candidates should also have demonstrated success working well with faculty, administration, and students; training and/or experience in student advising and counseling; and a commitment to diversity. A track-record of scholarship and contributions at the national level is highly desired.

Adjunct Instructor 1 - Automotive Management. Teach BS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology. Depending on qualifications, subjects taught could include: Automotive Foundations, Automotive Marketing and Distribution, Automotive Accounting, Automotive Culture, Management of Fixed or Variable Operations, Warranty and Customer Relations, or Internet and Social Media Marketing. A focus on student success is expected. Office hours are required with at least one hour for each class taught. Use of current technology is expected.
