Interim Associate Dean - Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Under the direction of the Interim Dean, the Interim Associate Dean of Kendall College of Art and Design, is an administrative position with an anticipated start in the spring of 2026, with an expected end date of December 2026. However, this is an estimate and may be revised if needed. This position works under broad administrative direction with significant responsibility in operations, assessment, student recruitment, retention, and compliance. This is a 12-month administrative appointment that requires understanding of the programs within the KCAD, willingness to work closely with faculty, students, and staff across the departments of the KCAD, as well as with the college Dean's and Provost's office, while paying attention to detail in meeting the needs of the KCAD related to accreditation, efficiency, program quality, enrollment, operations, and industry partnerships. The Interim Associate Dean is expected to be strategic, process-oriented, flexible, willing to work closely with faculty, and committed to the career-focused mission of the KCAD. The Interim Associate Dean will work integrally with the Interim Dean to oversee course scheduling and enrollment management; provide oversight/coordination that includes, but is not limited to, working with faculty on curriculum development for new academic programs, including credit and non-credit certificate development; and work collaboratively with programs for assessment, accreditation, and academic program reviews. The Interim Associate Dean will be assigned work on both the KCAD campus in Grand Rapids, MI as well as the main campus in Big Rapids, MI.
Assistant Professor of Geography Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in Geography. The successful candidate will instruct general education and programmatic courses in various areas of human and regional geography, including World Regional Geography, Geography of US and Canada, Geography of Michigan, and other courses in keeping with department needs and candidate expertise. Additionally, our ideal candidate will teach Social Studies Education, a capstone course focused on the C3 framework and instruction of Social Studies content for secondary education teachers-in-training. Our department works closely with the School of Education to deliver content courses, advising, and assessment for Social Studies Education as required by the Michigan Department of Education and various accrediting bodies, and our ideal candidate will help to coordinate these activities and will model evidence-based pedagogical practices in the classroom. Additional responsibilities include advising students; contributing to the department, college, university, and profession through participation on committees and other forms of service or scholarly activity; and participating in appropriate, ongoing professional development. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The start date of this position is August 2026. Required: Ph.D. in Geography or Geography Education. Higher education teaching experience.
Assistant Professor - Finance (Tenure Track - 9 month) Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Business at Ferris State University is seeking applicants for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance. Candidates will teach a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate finance classes. Classes may include Personal Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investments, Portfolio Management, Derivatives, Real Estate Finance, Mathematics of Finance and other finance courses as needed. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, should be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. In addition to excellence in teaching, selected faculty will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. We expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as an advisor for a student investment and wealth management club. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. Required: PhD in finance from an accredited institution. ABD to be considered if it is completed before starting the position. A year of teaching experience in Finance or related field, or two years of business experience in Finance or related field.

The highly motivated Executive Assistant will provide advanced, high-level administrative support to the Vice President of University Advancement and Marketing. This role demands outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to handle highly confidential information with integrity and discretion. The successful candidate will manage the Vice President’s schedule, coordinate extensive travel logistics, provide executive and tactical support for capital campaigns, manage logistics for high-profile donor meetings and asks, foundation board meetings and events, alumni events, and coordinate communication across the division. The assistant must be available to the team during, and outside of, standard business hours when necessary, possessing an outstanding work ethic, sound judgment, and trustworthiness.
