Assistant Professor of Education – Ferris State University. The School of Education seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor in Teacher Education. Responsibilities will be to teach courses in any, but not all of the following areas: Special Education. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2025 or August 2025 at the latest. Required: Ed. D. or Ph.D. in Education or closely related field. At least 18 credits of course work in special education at the master’s degree or higher. Teacher certification or the ability to be certified. 3 years teaching at the PK-12 level in special education (Two years part-time is equivalent to one year full-time.).
Library Assistant 3 Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Library Assistant 3 position performs a combination of routine and non-routine library duties of moderate complexity requiring mid-level knowledge and judgment within pre-defined limits. Duties include hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating student employees and participating in training and development with, and for, lower-classified clerical-technical employees. This position may be cross-trained with other clerical-technical employee(s) to meet the needs of the library. The position works cooperatively and in support of the Collections and Access Services Team and the Research and Instruction Services Team and performs duties as a part of cross-functional work teams. The anticipated start date of this position is November 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Associate degree in any field from an accredited academic institution, or equivalent. (See work experience.) The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of full-time related work experience equals one year of education. 2 years of clerical work experience in an office or library setting. 4 years relevant work experience required in lieu of associate degree. Experience using relevant staff functions of a library management system.
Law Enforcement Academy Director Big Rapids, MI 49307
Successful Candidates will be expected to provide leadership in the strategic planning, administration, staffing and program compliance of the Pre-Service Track Program and Regional Training Academy. Assure compliance with policies, practices, and procedures of the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) and Ferris State University. Serve as the Liaison between, Ferris State University, MCOLES, Michigan Criminal Justice Training Consortiums and Mid-Michigan law enforcement agencies. Develop, coordinate, schedule and staff grants. Develop, coordinate, schedule and staff in-service training programs. Facilitate the Police Academy Advisory Board. Perform other duties as needed by the School of Criminal Justice. This is a 3-year renewable position. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in criminal justice or related field of study. Event Support (Student Position) Grand Rapids, MI 49503
This role will be doing room set ups and tear downs (moving furniture mostly), running technology for events (sound, lights, projection, etc…), assisting with room access and needs for internal and external events, assist with tidying up, managing lost and found, and other duties as assigned. Each day will have variety- so you won’t be bored working on the Events team! You will work closely with the Event Coordinator as well as the Facilities team.
Foundation Specialist Big Rapids, MI 49307
Serves as a key point of contact for the Advancement Team, while providing administrative support for the Associate Vice President for Advancement/Executive Director of The Ferris Foundation, the Director of Leadership Giving/Associate Director of The Ferris Foundation, and philanthropy officers. Position requires a significant degree of decision-making and independent action. Interacts with tact and diplomacy with the campus community, vendors, donors, community members and other University constituents. Position reports to the Associate Vice President for Advancement/Executive Director of The Ferris Foundation. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Valid Driver's License. Three years of relevant work experience. Experience with computer software applications, preferably Microsoft Office and a customer/donor database.
