Advertised Salary: $12.48  
Summary of Position:

Maintain COB computer labs and provide technical and tutoring services to students in the COB labs that may not be readily available elsewhere on campus.

 
Position Requirements:

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to adapt to various learning styles.

The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Linux OS, software and hardware troubleshooting and have taken CITS 150, 160 and 280 as well as ISYS 110. 

Additionally, the candidate is expected to demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and discretion while working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment.

 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Update Fedora Linux systems
  • Update VMware and other essential software (e.g., Chrome)
  • Utilize Ansible to streamline software updates and configurations
  • Create new semester login credentials
  • Remove outdated virtual machines from lab drives
  • Maintain the DHCP server, including fixing the degraded drive (post-UPS installation)
  • Install the new uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
  • Clean and organize labs to ensure they are ready for student use
  • Provide tutoring services to students in COB labs
