The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Economics. Teaching will include economics undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students; faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to advance curricular initiatives, participate in the assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancements. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, faculty will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as a program coordinator. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2027 at the earliest and August 2027 at the latest. Coordinate the Public Safety Department communication system and perform a variety of police records support functions, some of which require special certification. A position classified as a Food Service Worker is available with Dining Services at The Rock Cafe. The normal working hours are 1:30pm-10pm Sunday through Wednesday and Saturday. Days off are Thursday and Friday. This position will begin as soon as possible, subject to manager approval. Provides executive leadership and strategic direction for Ferris State University's comprehensive public safety and law enforcement program. Serves as Chief of Police and leads sworn law enforcement officers and public safety personnel responsible for campus safety and security, crime prevention, emergency response, investigations, parking and traffic enforcement, emergency management, and related public safety services. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications, the Director for Digital Experience is the campus webmaster and collaborates with internal and external constituencies to promote a consistent approach for developing and presenting the content of the university’s website, ferris.edu. Primary responsibilities include the oversight of the University’s content management system (CMS), the conceptualization, design, development, analysis, maintenance, and accessibility of the ferris.edu site, and other related websites that further the University’s mission and its marketing, advancement, academic and administrative objectives. Additional duties include oversight of digital advertising and social media. The Director for Digital Experience is expected to demonstrate sound judgment and balance relative to facilitating the many creative, functionality/user-experience, technical, analytic, security, and accessibility demands placed on ferris.edu. The position also covers Ferris State University's digital presence, overseeing the creation, placement, and performance of digital advertising. The position also oversees Ferris State social media platforms, overseeing the creation, posting, and performance of content across all platforms. This position oversees the university's campus portal, Ferris360, and is responsible for collaborating with units across the university to optimize this platform for use by students, faculty, staff, and community members. This position provides leadership and supervision for assigned staff, including content creators and web developers. This position oversees the implementation and development of digital analytics tools for tracking data related to the use of digital platforms and the effectiveness of digital advertising initiatives.
