Advertised Salary: $63,000 to $65,100 Salary commensurate with education, experiences and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)

Summary of Position: The School of Education seeks applications for an Assistant Professor to teach education courses in elementary and early childhood. Duties will include attending department meetings, advising students, and participating in accreditation process, etc. Teaching on-campus and off-campus courses, face-to-face, synchronous and asynchronous online courses will be based on department need.

The start date for this position is August 2023.
 
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing  
Required Education: Ph.D. or Ed. D. in Education or closely related field.

Minimum of 18 credits in elementary or early childhood education with literacy at bachelor or master's level.
 
Required Work Experience: Three to 5 years of experience teaching at the birth to 5 year or K-12 level.  
Required Licenses and Certifications: Teacher certification or ability to become certified.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Faculty members have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).

Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.

Teach courses in literacy at all levels of education (birth to grade 12).

Teach courses in foundations of education and methodology courses.

Actively participate in curriculum development and accreditation.

Supervise students in the field.

Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
