Advertised Salary: 9,000 stipend, housing (which is taxable) and upon admittance into graduate school, the student will be eligible to receive a scholarship covering up to 9 credits per semester.

Summary of Position: Responsible for the coordination, oversight and management of the equipment activities for the Ferris State football team at the NCAA Division II level that meets all industry and competitive safeguard standards.
Pursuant to FSU-HRPP 2005:44, "Students currently admitted on a full-time basis, defined as carrying at least 9 credits per semester, to a Ferris State University graduate program and earning credits toward a graduate degree, may qualify for a Graduate Project Assistant (GPA) position".

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree. Must be enrolled in a Ferris State University Graduate program for Fall 2023 semester.  
Required Work Experience: 1 year of equipment-related experience or athletic-related experience
Physical ability to handle bulky or heavy stock items, equipment, and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of issuing, fitting, cleaning, and maintaining athletic equipment.
Valid driver's license with ability to drive University vehicles.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Coordination of issue, maintenance and repair of football team game and practice equipment.
Recruit, hire, train and supervise equipment student staff.
Coordinate and supervise team support staff preparation for all football home games, special events and road games as required.
Schedule and monitor student work time.
Coordinate football team equipment travel preparation.
Coordinate day to day practice uniform and equipment needs and staffing for football.
Develop and implement daily laundry schedule for football.
Coordinate and perform daily repairs and maintenance on individual equipment as needed.
Supervise student staff.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.  
Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the NCAA rules and guidelines
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in packing and planning for away contests
Experience with the day to day problem solving associated with equipment duties and responsibilities.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
