Advertised Salary: Minimum of $1,276 per credit hour, if advanced degree held in primary academic discipline the minimum rate increases to $1,375 per credit hour. Salary commensurate with qualifications pursuant to the FSU and FNTFO/AFT Agreement

Summary of Position: The School of Design and Manufacturing invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology program. Position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment.
This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment.

The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest.
 
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing  
Required Education: A master’s or higher-level degree in field or closely related field and 3 years of relevant industrial experience (all courses up through 400 level).
A master’s or higher-level degree out of field with at least one bachelor’s or associate degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught (all courses up through 400 level).
A bachelor’s degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught; or an associate’s degree in field and any baccalaureate degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience (all courses up through 200 level).

 
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years of relevant industry experience dependent upon degree obtained. See Required Education.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Preparing and delivering courses utilizing effective methods that insure that all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in a classroom format.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include but are not limited to: keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
