Under the direction of the Director of Charter Schools, the Associate Director of Charter Schools will provide leadership and administrative support to advance Ferris State University’s goals related to its charter school authorizing responsibilities. This full-time, in-person position, based on the Big Rapids campus, is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the academic and contractual performance of the University’s 23 authorized public-school academies. The Associate Director will collaborate with Charter Schools Office (CSO) staff to establish academic performance goals, develop assessment and monitoring strategies, and implement data-driven reporting methods to ensure transparency and continuous improvement. This position will be responsible for coordinating reporting processes aligned with state and national accreditation requirements. The role also includes regular in-state travel to meet with academy leadership, support student success initiatives, promote dual enrollment opportunities, and strengthen partnerships that connect charter schools with Ferris to help increase university enrollment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including school leaders, boards, and community members. This position requires sound critical thinking, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines, and a high degree of professionalism when navigating complex or sensitive situations. Experience working collaboratively with individuals from varied backgrounds. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2025. Perform custodial duties independently or within a team environment as assigned, providing a high standard of cleanliness. This is a custodial position, T-Sa, 10:30 pm – 7:00 am. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid driver’s license. Custodial/Janitorial work experience in a commercial-hospital-school environment, in a commercial cleaning service, or completion of the Ferris State University JANUS (custodial) training. Demonstrated experience with correct operation of a variety of commercial custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaner, automatic scrubber, high speed burnisher, single disc scrubber, carpet extraction/shampoo equipment or other essential or similar custodial equipment. |
Adjunct Instructor 3 - Construction Management

We are seeking a 3-year full-time temporary faculty member (9-month contract) to teach face-to-face in one or more of the following degree programs: Building Construction Technology AAS, Civil Engineering Technology AAS, Construction Management BS and Facilities Management BS. The role involves teaching lectures and/or labs in topics related to construction, facilities management, and virtual design and construction. The faculty member is expected to focus on student success, maintain office hours, and integrate current technology in their teaching. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. |
Director of Grand Rapids Operations

The Director of Grand Rapids Operations provides administrative leadership for the Extended and International Operations (EIO) activities in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the surrounding area. Responsible for the region's undergraduate and graduate credit degree programming and building relationships with the region's community colleges, businesses, associations, and chamber groups. Work with academic colleges to support faculty recruitment and are responsible for selecting, training, supervising, and mentoring individuals reporting to the position to deliver quality programming and positive student learning experiences. Collaborate with academic and administrative units to achieve strategic planning goals and identify and implement new programs and delivery sites. All regional employees report either directly or indirectly to the Director. The individual is responsible for the region's undergraduate and graduate credit educational programming. It may also be required as a resource in the area for non-credit activities. Reports to the Dean of Extended and International Operations. The anticipated start date for this position is July of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in business, education, or a related field. Five years of successful, full-time work experience with educational outreach activities in higher education and/or business and industry settings are required. Experience in supervision and strategic planning. |
Part-time Theatre Technician (9 month)

Part-time Theatre Technician working up to 28 hours per week will assist the Technical Theatre Instructor/Auditorium Manager with all the technical elements for events. This can include sound, scenery, lighting, painting, and running performances in Williams Auditorium. Job schedule will include some days, evenings & weekends. This is a 9-month part-time (no more than 28 hours per week) position during the academic year (mid- August to mid-May) at the main campus in Big Rapids. The start date for this position is August 2025. Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Experience beyond high school with the technical aspects of mounting and running events such as set construction, painting, lighting, sound, rigging and audio visual. |
