| The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in Sociology. The successful candidate will instruct general education and programmatic Sociology courses in various areas of Sociology, including both introductory and upper-level courses in keeping with department needs and candidate expertise. Additional responsibilities include advising students in the Sociology minor; contributing to the department, college, university, and profession through participation on committees and other forms of service or scholarly activity; and participating in appropriate, ongoing professional development. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2026. Required: Ph.D. in Sociology. Higher education teaching experience. |

Adjunct Instructor - Reading

| This position has responsibilities for teaching Foundations – Analytical Reading or Analytical Reading at Ferris State University. Instruction will focus on providing students with the opportunity to become critical readers by increasing vocabulary, enhancing reading comprehension and recall, and improving reading skills to better prepare for college level reading. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses or approved FSU site or possibly online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2026 at the earliest and August 2026 at the latest. However, these are estimated dates and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in Reading, Developmental Education, Special Education or related field. Experience teaching and/or developmental studies at the college or K-12 levels. Experience teaching reading, developmental-level, and/or language arts at the high school and/or post-secondary levels. |
