An adjunct instructor is needed to teach an undergraduate Finance course as part of Ferris State University's Prison Education Program at Thumb Correctional Facility in Lapeer, Michigan. This position requires face-to-face instruction at the facility. The course to be taught is FINC 322 Financial Management 1 - The environment, goals, and techniques of financial management; emphasizes both investment and financing decisions; incorporates control techniques including ratio analysis, budgeting, and forecasting; includes time value of money, bond and stock values, the use of operating and financial leverage, capital budgeting techniques, cost of capital, and basic information concerning international financial management. This posting is being used for face-to-face instruction, and the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Donor Events/Stewardship Specialist Big Rapids, MI 49307
Reporting to the Manager of Stewardship and Donor Relations, the Donor Events Specialist/Stewardship Coordinator at Ferris State University is responsible for donor stewardship and implementation of the organization's events and special meetings, including; fundraising events, donor relations events, dinner parties, and President’s Box for football and hockey, etc. The Donor Events Specialist/Stewardship Coordinator will work closely with internal events constituents, including the Vice President for University Advancement and Marketing, Associate Vice Presidents, Major Gifts and Alumni, and Annual Giving teams. This Donor Events Specialist/Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for maintaining communication and tactical relationships among events stakeholders including other university departments, corporate and community partners, and event entities. In this role, the Donor Events Specialist/Stewardship Coordinator will interact with a variety of audiences including; donors, University leadership, Foundation, Alumni, advisory board members, and event sponsors. The role of the Associate Provost for Academic Operations (APAO) is critical in the office of Academic Affairs, as it involves providing leadership and oversight for the operations of the Academic Affairs Division with the ability to navigate relationships, communicate effectively, and understand the needs of the division. The APAO is charged with building and maintaining a team-based approach to various aspects, including, but not limited to; academic policy development, academic planning, enrollment initiatives, resolving student and faculty concerns, management of academic budgets and personnel decisions, and union contract negotiations, all in support of faculty governance. At the direction of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), the APAO collaborates with the Associate Provost of Curriculum, Assessment, and Accreditation, deans, faculty, and staff offering logistical and strategic support to the division, covering areas such as negotiation of the collective bargaining agreement, appeals for course requirements, handling student complaints, tenure track faculty review and promotions, semester scheduling and policy review, revision and implementation. Consistent with the team-based structure of the Provost's Office, the APAO may also serve as backup for duties assigned to the Associate Provost of Assessment and Accreditation. Adjunct Instructor 3 – Theatre Tech Big Rapids, MI 49307
This is a 9-month Adjunct Instructor, multifaceted position encompassing the roles of Theatre Adjunct instructor, Technical Director/Designer, and Auditorium Manager. As a Theatre Adjunct Instructor, you will teach one course per semester. In the role of Technical Director/Designer, you will be responsible for designing the set, lighting, and sound for the University Theatre productions (one per semester), overseeing set construction and prop creation, managing the Theatre scene shop, collaborating with the Production/Performance Director on show selection, scheduling technical rehearsals and performances, and oversite of the budget. As the Auditorium Manager, you will manage the operation and administration of the University’s Williams Auditorium. Administrator of First-Generation Student Engagement Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Administrator of First-Generation Student Engagement will serve as the primary advocate and leader for first-generation student initiatives and programs at Ferris State University. This position is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all programming designed to support the success of first-generation and first-generation, low-income (FGLI) students. Through collaboration with campus departments, community organizations, state and national partners, and high schools across Michigan, the administrator will work to enhance recruitment, foster belonging, and advance student persistence, retention, and graduation outcomes. By overseeing these initiatives and ensuring compliance with grant regulations, this role provides substantial benefit to the university by creating pathways to success for a substantial portion of the student body. Additionally, the administrator will manage budgets, support grant activities, and work with various stakeholders to strategically position Ferris as a leader in first-generation student engagement. This is a grant funded position with up to a four-year temporary assignment ending September 30th, 2029, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon continued grant funding and successful performance.
