A Desktop Support Technician responds to incidents and requests escalated by the Service Desk that are related to customer equipment in which additional skills, knowledge, tools, or authority are required. May resolve incidents remotely, at the user’s location, or via equipment returns. Responsibilities may include hardware and software troubleshooting, deployments, moves, adds, and changes. Technicians must be customer service oriented. This position will be expected to travel to satellite campuses on occasion. CompTIA A+ certification required within 90 days of employment. Note: The University will not provide immigration assistance for this position. Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalency. A valid driver's license. One year of work experience in a computer-related support position.
Adjunct Instructor - Information Security and Intelligence (Dual Enrollment Programs) Metro Detroit
Seeking qualified applicants for a pooled, part-time Instructor position in Information Security and Intelligence to teach dual enrollment (high school students) courses in Detroit, Michigan. Courses will be delivered face-to-face at 1201 Woodward and are planned to meet three days per week (tentatively MWF, between 12pm-3pm) during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Instructors will teach one or more of the following courses: ARTI 113 – Introduction to AI; ISIN 121 – Digital Security Awareness; CLOU 131 – Cloud Computing Fundamentals; and ISIN 209 – Network Security. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction in a face-to-face format; maintaining academic rigor consistent with university standards; assessing and improving student learning outcomes; and collaborating closely with program faculty. Instructors are encouraged to participate in training and professional development through the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning and are expected to engage in ongoing communication to ensure alignment with departmental curriculum and expectations. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired on a semester-by-semester basis as instructional needs arise. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses or FSU approved sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan by the first day of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.
Adjunct Instructor - DCCL: IDSL 885 Creating Culture of Student Learning and Success, Doctorate in Community College Leadership Multiple Locations
Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 885 Creating Culture of Student Learning and Success. This course evaluates past and current theories of and strategies for improving student success including best practices in persistence, completion, and student development. Focus is on continuous improvement strategies deriving from data analysis. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7-1/2 week mixed delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas) followed by online instruction. Examines methods for maximizing the college’s human resources, including the expertise needed to provide leadership in designing effective models of employee involvement and development within the context of labor laws, agreements, and governance structures.
