Teach AAS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology. Depending on qualifications, subjects taught could include manual drivelines, brakes, electrical, engines, steering and suspension, electronic fuel management, chassis electrical, automatic transmissions, heating ventilation and air conditioning, service area or automotive machining. A focus on student success is expected. Office hours are required with at least one hour for each class taught. Use of current technology is expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Required: The standard to teach college credit courses at the associate degree level (1xx, 2xx) shall be the bachelor's (or higher) degree in field, or closely related area. A bachelor's degree or higher out of field and an associate's degree in field and five (5) years of relevant industry experience; or a bachelor's degree out of field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience; or an associate's degree in field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience. ASE Master Technician may substitute for two (2) years of industry experience. Appropriate ASE certifications based on content of course taught.

Provide comprehensive supervision of 1-3 residence halls (typically two). Hall Directors recruit, train, supervise, and mentor residence hall staff, 6-17 Resident Advisors, 1-3 Senior Staff Advisors and 15-30 front desk and night security personnel; actively participate on departmental and university-wide committees, manage facilities, advise Hall Council; train RA staff to advise House Councils; coordinate programming/community development and provide overall leadership in the academic, social and emotional development of students. In addition, Hall Directors serve as conduct hearing officers recommending educational outcomes up to and including dismissal from the university. Required: Bachelor’s degree. Two or more years of progressive residence life experience in a University setting required including: staff training and development, supervision and evaluation, program planning and implementation, facilities management, basic computer applications, and adjudicating student conduct experience.
