  • Assistant Professor of Social Work in Multiple Locations

    Teaching online and in-person primarily in the MSW program with opportunities to teach BSW curriculum in Big Rapids and Traverse City and other potential sites in Michigan. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. While supporting and encouraging research, Ferris State University is primarily a teaching university. We encourage applicants with substantial clinical experience who are interested in teaching and mentoring our next generation of social workers. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching, the ability to work effectively with both faculty colleagues and diverse student populations, and participation in other department/college and University academic activities. The start date of this position is August 2025 Required: Candidate must have an MSW from a CSWE accredited program. Candidate must have/or be eligible and apply for a Michigan Social Work License upon hire. Two years of successful higher education teaching experience. Two years of post-MSW clinical practice experience in the field.

    The Title IX Administrator (Coordinator) reports to the Dean of Student Life and has the primary responsibility of coordinating and implementing the University’s compliance efforts with Title IX, working closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs, Associate Chief Human Resources Officer, Director of Equal Opportunity, General Counsel, and other administrative leaders, and has no other duties that create a conflict of interest. The Title IX Coordinator leads and proactively influences University-wide Title IX planning, monitoring, reporting, grievance procedures, education, prevention, and training efforts. Required: Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field. Relevant work Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in adult education, student affairs, higher education, social work, counseling, law/legal studies or related field. Three years of professional experience post-Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated professional experience related to Title IX. Demonstrated experience in managing complaints, conducting investigations, and/or effectively resolving cases in areas such as student conduct, legal offices, law enforcement, or related fields.

    The Communications Specialist for the Marketing and Communications team of the University Advancement and Marketing division works to identify, research, write, edit, and pitch news and feature stories that showcase the university and its people; works in collaboration with the social media team, photographer and videographer, and web team to tell the stories of Ferris State people and programs using a variety of platforms. Required: Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field. Relevant work experience as a writer within the last five years. At least 3-5 years of experience working with the media or for a media organization.

    Perform plumbing skilled trades work in assembling, repairing, installing, and/or hot water under high or low pressure. Repair and maintenance of gas fired appliances. This is a plumber position that will normally work M-F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid driver’s license. Five years full-time work experience required with the ability to obtain State of Michigan journeyman plumbing license within 12 months from date of hire.

    Provide administrative leadership and management of student recruiting activities for the University’s academic programming. This position will engage in a variety of recruiting activities, including regional and national travel, high school visits, career fairs, portfolio reviews, and recruitment events. The position also includes providing general information about academic programs, and ensuring prospective students are informed about admissions processes, housing, scholarships, and financial aid opportunities. The Admissions Recruiter will help meet enrollment goals and act as the primary contact for prospective students. This position will be positioned in Metro Detroit. This role reports to TBD. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid driver’s license required. Work experience in an aspect of recruitment, marketing, public relations, and/or financial aid. Must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills which include attention to detail and accuracy. Must be proficient with information multiple forms of technology and its applications for delivery and management of student recruitment.
