Assistant or Associate Professor of Automotive in Big Rapids, MI 49307
The School of Automotive and Heavy Equipment invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and teaching courses in the Associate in Applied Science Automotive Service Technology Program and in the Bachelor of Science Automotive Engineering Technology Program, in lecture and lab formats. This position requires utilizing a variety of methods and techniques to assure student attainment of course outcomes and the utilization of assessment methods to monitor success. Other duties may include the delivery of courses off campus, development and delivery of on-line courses, serving on department, school, and college committees, and student advising. The focus of the courses being taught would be towards the eight ASE certification areas. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. A master's degree in education or a related field must be secured as a condition for tenure. Minimum of five years teaching experience to include an award of tenure for rank of Associate Professor. The anticipated start date of this position is January of 2026 at the earliest and August of 2026 at the latest.

Adjunct Instructor - Reading in Big Rapids, MI 49307
This position has responsibilities for teaching Foundations – Analytical Reading or Analytical Reading at Ferris State University. Instruction will focus on providing students with the opportunity to become critical readers by increasing vocabulary, enhancing reading comprehension and recall, and improving reading skills to better prepare for college level reading. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses or approved FSU site or possibly online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position in Geography. The successful candidate will instruct general education and programmatic courses in various areas of human and regional geography, including World Regional Geography, Geography of US and Canada, Geography of Michigan, and other courses in keeping with department needs and candidate expertise. Additionally, our ideal candidate will teach Social Studies Education, a capstone course focused on the C3 framework and instruction of Social Studies content for secondary education teachers-in-training. Our department works closely with the School of Education to deliver content courses, advising, and assessment for Social Studies Education as required by the Michigan Department of Education and various accrediting bodies, and our ideal candidate will help to coordinate these activities and will model evidence-based pedagogical practices in the classroom. Assistant Professor - Finance (Tenure Track - 9 month) in Big Rapids, MI 49307
The College of Business at Ferris State University is seeking applicants for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance. Candidates will teach a broad spectrum of undergraduate and graduate finance classes. Classes may include Personal Finance, Financial Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Investments, Portfolio Management, Derivatives, Real Estate Finance, Mathematics of Finance and other finance courses as needed. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses or approved FSU sites. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, should be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. In addition to excellence in teaching, selected faculty will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. We expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as an advisor for a student investment and wealth management club. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2026 at the earliest and January of 2027 at the latest. Required: PhD in finance from an accredited institution. ABD to be considered if it is completed before starting the position. A year of teaching experience in Finance or related field, or two years of business experience in Finance or related field.
