    • Instructor/Assistant Professor of Product Design (Full-time term appointment, non-tenure-track) in Grand Rapids, MI 49503

      Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. As a KCAD term appointment faculty member, you will engage in three kinds of professional development: continuous improvement in teaching effectiveness, creative and/or scholarly contribution within your discipline, and a college service commitment that includes committee work and community engagement for the advancement of KCAD’s mission. You will actively support student success by advising students regarding their academic plan and progress as well as their co-curricular and post-graduation opportunities. This is a full-time, term (temporary), non-tenure-track faculty appointment with the possibility of renewal. Courses are to be taught in person on KCAD’s campus in Grand Rapids. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Teaching assignments for the fall 2025 semester may include subjects and skills such as product design studio, digital modeling (CAD), design drawing (visual presentation), metals/jewelry design, portfolio development, materials and processes, professional practices, foundation drawing, 3D foundations, or other digital foundations courses. Course assignment will be determined based on individual candidate strengths, qualifications, and program needs.

    • HVAC&R Mechanic in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      Perform skilled trades work in repairing, installing, diagnosing, and maintaining heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, refrigeration and associated equipment on University property. Position is located in Big Rapids, MI and the current anticipated shift for the position will be M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Assignment requires the availability to work weekends and evening shifts as needed and respond to emergency calls. Required to carry pager. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Possession of Certificate of completion in Universal Application of Refrigerant Transition. Two years of work experience in commercial, industrial, and/or residential HVACR.

    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Construction Management in Multiple Locations

      We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach one course or a variety of courses, in one or more of the following degree programs: Building Construction Technology AAS, Civil Engineering Technology AAS, and Construction Management BS. In addition to the more common topics associated with the degree programs, experience in construction, surveying, construction finance, construction law, and virtual design and construction will be considered. Assignments may be lectures or labs; face-to-face, blended or online; in Big Rapids and/or Grand Rapids. A focus on student success, office hours, and use of current technology are expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For 100% online teaching positions: Courses are to be taught online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2025 at the earliest, and January 2026 at the latest.

    • Adjunct Instructor 3 – Theatre Tech in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      This is a 9-month Adjunct Instructor, multifaceted position encompassing the roles of Theatre Adjunct instructor, Technical Director/Designer, and Auditorium Manager. As a Theatre Adjunct Instructor, you will teach one course per semester. In the role of Technical Director/Designer, you will be responsible for designing the set, lighting, and sound for the University Theatre productions (one per semester), overseeing set construction and prop creation, managing the Theatre scene shop, collaborating with the Production/Performance Director on show selection, scheduling technical rehearsals and performances, and oversite of the budget. As the Auditorium Manager, you will manage the operation and administration of the University’s Williams Auditorium. This includes scheduling events, coordinating with both University and external groups using the space, supervising student workers to assist with event setup and execution, and managing event budgets. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. This is a 9-month appointment with the possibility of renewal. The start date is August 2025. Required: MFA in Theatre or Technical Theatre/Design, or MA in a related area. Two years teaching college-level Theatre and/or Technical Theatre/Design courses. Experience in set, light, and/or sound design, technical direction and scene shop management at college and/or professional level.

    • Assistant Professor – Project Management (Tenure Track - 9 month) in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      The College of Business at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Project Management. Teaching will include project management undergraduate and graduate courses. To foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, they will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. The selected candidate should be willing to serve as a program coordinator. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 or January of 2026 at the latest.
