Adjunct Instructor - Core Health Sciences in Multiple Locations
Adjunct Instructor for the Health Administration/Health Information Department. This position includes teaching core and interdisciplinary health courses in the College of Health Professions. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses, or at statewide high schools. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. The candidate(s) selected for the position(s) must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is January of 2026 at the earliest, and because this is a pooled position, we will be using this posting for semesters in the near future, so please continue to apply even after the initial review date. These are estimated dates and can be revised if needed. Required: Master’s degree in health sciences/health-related area or a master’s degree in education. Three or more years of health-related work experience or teaching experience.

Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 840 Qualitative Research Methods and Data Analysis. Addresses foundational principles of methods of qualitative inquiry, with emphasis on ensuring ethical standards, establishing assumptions and limitations for a study, developing appropriate research questions and approach, and designing effective data collection methods. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7 ½ week mixed delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas) followed by online instruction. The candidate(s) must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment and the duration of time performing services for Ferris State University. The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Human Geography courses on the Big Rapids, MI campus. Needs vary from semester to semester and may include introductory courses in World Regional Geography, Cultural Geography, Geography of US and Canada, and Geography of Michigan as well as other upper-level courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on Ferris State University's Big Rapids Campus. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. For 100% online teaching positions: Courses are to be taught online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan*, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Adjunct Instructor - Clinical Faculty (Part-Time) in Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provide in-person clinical teaching and patient care at the University Eye Center campus clinic (Big Rapids). The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to provide clinical education on a semester-by-semester basis. Compensation for the position is determined by degree held, residency, experience and certifications. See Tiered schedule information: Tier 1 ($53.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Degree) without Residency; and 2 years' experience Tier 2 ($61.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Degree) with Residency; and 3 years' experience; and Fellowship (FAAO, FOVDRA, etc.) or equivalent certifications Tier 3 ($69.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Degree) with Residency; and 5 years' experience; and Fellowship; and national professional organization lectures/posters and/or other published works. The anticipated start date is September 2025 and remains ongoing as needed. Required: At the time of appointment, the applicant must hold the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree. At the time of appointment, the applicant must have or be eligible for a Michigan optometry license with DPA and TPA certifications for appointment to the college's clinical staff.
