Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications, the Director for Digital Experience is the campus webmaster and collaborates with internal and external constituencies to promote a consistent approach for developing and presenting the content of the university’s website, ferris.edu. Primary responsibilities include the oversight of the University’s content management system (CMS), the conceptualization, design, development, analysis, maintenance, and accessibility of the ferris.edu site, and other related websites that further the University’s mission and its marketing, advancement, academic and administrative objectives. Additional duties include oversight of digital advertising and social media. The Director for Digital Experience is expected to demonstrate sound judgment and balance relative to facilitating the many creative, functionality/user-experience, technical, analytic, security, and accessibility demands placed on ferris.edu. The position also covers Ferris State University's digital presence, overseeing the creation, placement, and performance of digital advertising. The position also oversees Ferris State social media platforms, overseeing the creation, posting, and performance of content across all platforms. This position oversees the university's campus portal, Ferris360, and is responsible for collaborating with units across the university to optimize this platform for use by students, faculty, staff, and community members. This position provides leadership and supervision for assigned staff, including content creators and web developers. This position oversees the implementation and development of digital analytics tools for tracking data related to the use of digital platforms and the effectiveness of digital advertising initiatives.

Provide leadership and direct support for academic success initiatives within the Office of Student Success Initiatives (SSI), with a primary emphasis on advancing the persistence, academic success, and degree completion of first-generation students. Through proactive, individualized, and coordinated support, the Administrator will help students navigate academic and transitional challenges, connect with university resources, and develop strategies for success. This position supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the University's Title III Strengthening Institutions Program grant while helping integrate grant-supported strategies into the broader student success infrastructure. This is a grant-funded position with a temporary assignment through September 30, 2029. Continued employment is contingent upon successful performance and the availability of grant funding. The anticipated start date of this position is September 2026. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Offers are determined based on a review of the candidate's qualifications, including education, training, experience, and internal pay equity considerations. The range for this posting is $60,892 - $70,729. Placement within the range will generally be based on the following factors: Entry-Range: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and core requirements of the position. Mid-Range: Candidates with three or more years of directly related professional experience and demonstrate proficiency in the key responsibilities of the role. Upper Range: Candidates with seven or more years of directly related experience, advanced knowledge, specialized skills, certifications, or expertise that provide significant value to the position. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's overall qualifications, experience, and alignment with the University's compensation philosophy in consultation with Human Resources.

Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, and faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment. Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement. Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role. In support of teaching, candidates will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees. Off-campus and online teaching may be required. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
