    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Heavy Equipment in Multiple Locations

      The College of Engineering Technology is seeking adjunct instructors to teach Heavy Equipment courses. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is being used for face to face and/or online instruction. However, the candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January of 2026 at the latest. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in-person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidates(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For 100% online teaching positions: Courses are to be taught online. the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Required: Qualification by Credential: Master's Degree in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline OR a Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in Heavy Equipment or Automotive Engineering or related discipline. Qualification by Tested Experience: Bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology or Equivalent degree. Minimum of three years full-time experience in the Heavy Equipment Service field or teaching in a Heavy Equipment related setting, within the previous five years. Required experience is relevant to degree and experience. See Required Education.

    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Anthropology (Part-time, Temporary) in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Anthropology courses on the Big Rapids, MI campus. Needs vary from semester to semester and may include Introduction to Physical Anthropology, Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, and/or other Anthropology courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at Ferris State University's Big Rapids campus and potentially online. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date is August 2025 or January 2026, based on department needs. Required: Master's degree in Anthropology; graduate coursework in Physical and/or Cultural Anthropology may apply for certain courses. Higher education teaching experience.

    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Geography (Part-time, Temporary) in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Geography courses on the Big Rapids, MI campus. Needs vary from semester to semester and may include introductory courses in World Regional Geography, Cultural Geography, Weather and Climate, Physical Geography, and GIS as well as upper-level courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at Ferris State University's Big Rapids campus and potentially online. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date will be August 2025 or January 2026, based on department needs. Required: Master's degree in Geography; GIS, Physical Geography, or Human Geography specialties within the Master's Degree may apply for some courses. Higher education teaching experience.

Needs vary from semester to semester and may include introductory courses on American Government and other Political Science courses as determined by instructor qualification and departmental needs.       The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants to provide instruction for a variety of face-to-face and online Sociology courses on the Big Rapids campus. The courses may include Introductory Sociology, Social Problems, Marriage and Family, Social Stratification, Race and Ethnicity in the US, World Urban Sociology, and/or other upper-level sociology courses, as determined by the qualifications of the instructor and the needs of the department.
