    • Part-Time Dining Services in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      Dining Services is seeking hard working individuals to join a team of professionals dedicated to providing outstanding customer service. Several positions classified as part time continuing are available to assist in providing support in our retail, catering and residential food service operations, working up to 28 hours a week. Duties vary and could include greeting customers, processing meal plans, cash and credit card transactions utilizing a point of sales system, assisting with food production and service of food as needed. Individuals in this position will be exposed to all food types (ex. shellfish, peanuts, & fruit) in an environment where industrial strength cleaners are used. Work hours may vary, and you may be required to be on-call, work evenings, weekends and holidays. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Prior cashiering/retail/cash handling and/or food service experience is a plus. Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, and ability to assist customers cheerfully.

      Assist in Katke Golf Pro Shop with a variety of tasks including assisting customers in person and on phone, retail merchandising, cash handling and point-of-sales operations, event assistance, and other duties as needed. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two years of relevant work experience.

      Instructor needed for one or more social work courses on a semester-by-semester basis. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Required: Candidate must have a Masters in Social Work (MSW). Applicants must have a Michigan Social Work Licensure upon appointment. At least two years of post-MSW social work practice. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential for higher education teaching excellence and the ability to work effectively with both the faculty and students.

    • Adjunct Instructor 1 - Automotive Engineering Technology in Big Rapids, MI 49307

      Teach AAS degree level coursework in the College of Engineering Technology. Depending on qualifications, subjects taught could include manual drivelines, brakes, electrical, engines, steering and suspension, electronic fuel management, chassis electrical, automatic transmissions, heating ventilation and air conditioning, service area or automotive machining. A focus on student success is expected. Office hours are required with at least one hour for each class taught. Use of current technology is expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. For courses that are taught 100% online, the candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment. Required: The standard to teach college credit courses at the associate degree level (1xx, 2xx) shall be the bachelor's (or higher) degree in field, or closely related area. A bachelor's degree or higher out of field and an associate's degree in field and five (5) years of relevant industry experience; or a bachelor's degree out of field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience; or an associate's degree in field and seven (7) years of relevant industry experience. ASE Master Technician may substitute for two (2) years of industry experience. Appropriate ASE certifications based on content of course taught.
