Assistant Professor - Teacher Education in Big Rapids, MI 49307
Ferris State University is seeking a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education who can demonstrate excellence in teaching special education and other related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the School of Education. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and possess the ability to deliver face-to-face and online instruction at both the main campus and other locations. This successful candidate will also advise and mentor education students throughout their program. The department is especially interested in an individual committed to teaching, scholarship, and service in a highly collaborative environment that is dedicated to the preparation of the next generation of educators to be adaptive teachers and learners, problem-solvers, and inspirers of learning. The anticipated start date of this position is January 2026 or August 2026 at the latest. Required: Master's degree in education or a closely related area with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in special education. Certification in special education or eligible for certification in special education. Three years of successful special education teaching experience in a P-12 setting. Two years of part-time is equivalent to one year of full-time.

Adjunct Instructor - Technical Theatre in Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Humanities Department seeks applications for instructors to teach one course per semester in Technical Theatre, in the Fall and/or Spring semesters. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired, as needed, to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis face-to-face and/or online. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities including keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participating in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025 or January 2026 at the latest. Required: Master's degree in Technical Theater or Theatre or related field. Previous experience teaching Technical Theatre/Design courses at the high school and/or collegiate level.
