Ferris State University seeks qualified candidates to teach part-time in the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Instruction occurs on campus, at off-campus locations, and online. Course Assignment: IDSL 855 Managing Financial Resources. Provides an overview of the budgetary concepts and processes that are foundational to the financial health of community colleges, including decision-making frameworks, analytical tools, capital planning, technology planning, and state and federal regulations and practices. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Applications will be retained until vacancies arise, at which time qualified candidates may be contacted. This posting is for a 7 ½ week mixed delivery course – typically one face-to-face weekend (either in Michigan or Houston, Texas) followed by online instruction. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin after acceptance of employment and the duration of time performing services for Ferris State University. Adjunct Instructor - Pharmaceutical Sciences Fully Online/Remote (Adjunct Faculty)
To support the instructional needs of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, the College of Pharmacy seeks to hire an adjunct faculty member with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Pharmacy; Pharmaceutical manufacturing; Regulatory affairs. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching courses within the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Regulatory Affairs Certificate Program, which is delivered fully online. The candidate must possess a commitment to engaging students in a virtual environment. Successful candidates will have the ability to translate complex regulatory and manufacturing concepts into accessible, applied learning experiences. This is a pooled position. Personal Counselor/Assistant Professor Grand Rapids, MI 49503
The Personal Counselor/Assistant Professor is a full time, tenure track, 12 month position. Personal Counselors are responsible for providing individual and group, short-term mental health counseling and crisis intervention for Ferris State University (FSU) students. This is an embedded position working at the KCAD Grand Rapids site. The position serves as the primary mental health provider for all Ferris Students taking classes in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area including KCAD, Ferris State P3 and P4 Pharmacy students, Ferris Grand Rapids students, Optometry students, and any other students taking classes through the Grand Rapids Success Hub. This position may also provide virtual services to Ferris students on the Big Rapids main campus as needed. Personal Counselors are tasked with providing outreach, education, consultation and training to students, faculty, and staff on mental health topics. As this embedded position is physically housed outside of Big Rapids, the selected candidate will be empowered to make changes and recommendations based on client’s unique needs and experiences at the Grand Rapids site. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to operate as a part of a team, as well as independently. Required: Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling and/or Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or comparable mental health professional degree. Adjunct Instructor - Pediatric Clinical Faculty (Part-Time) Flint, MI 48503
This position will initially involve in-person patient care at an MCO external clinic location (Flint, MI) two days per week and work in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and external partners to develop a patient base that will support future resident and/or externship education. Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (ADASA) serves as Chief Academic Officer (COA), directing and coordinating all academic and student-related functions at Michigan College of Optometry (MCO). The ADASA provides leadership to ensure compliance with all accreditation standards related to academic affairs and student services. Specific responsibilities related to academic affairs include oversight of the curriculum, assessment of programmatic outcomes, setting faculty and student schedules, organizing disciplinary actions, developing policy letters, and maintaining faculty and student handbooks. Specific responsibilities related to student services include overseeing recruitment, admissions, student advising, development and analysis of key metrics that assess student success, well-being, and belonging. On behalf of the students in the Doctor of Optometry program, the ADASA will coordinate student interactions with the University registrar, financial aid office, graduation office, and other offices. The ADASA will provide leadership in awarding scholarships and awards, maintenance of student records, support of student organizations, and graduation of all students enrolled in the Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Vision Science degree programs. The Administrative Specialist supports the coordination of the FerrisNow dual enrollment program and related initiatives, including secondary articulation agreements, recruitment and retention efforts, and administrative processes.
