Summary of Position: This position is a two year full-time temporary grant funded position. If the grant funding is extended there is a potential the position could be as well. The successful candidate hired for this position will use a variety of data sources to improve database management and reporting quality. The work involves the collection, aggregation, and evaluation of health care data using advanced functions in SQL and leveraging advanced visualization techniques such as Tableau or Power BI.

Required Work Experience: Prior experience with any or all of the following database and reporting tools: Web Development Tools, Oracle, SQL, Excel, SQL Server Reporting Services, Visual Basic, Power BI, and/or Tableau

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Design, test, implement, and maintain data collection and reporting systems to support quality improvement (QI) and research activities using complex database statistical methods. This includes access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, guidelines and statistics methods.
Implement project specific procedures that comply with regulatory and internal procedures. This include maintenance of databases, overall monitoring of standards and procedures and integration of systems through database design.
Ensure protection and confidentiality while providing efficient access and utilization of data.
Writing code and stored procedures to include, but not limited to, interfacing data from multiple data sources. Provide technical support to other developers, data managers, clinicians and researchers utilizing biomedical data.
Provide support to clients with a broad range of technical expertise.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Develop utilities and complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting, perform data conversions from several data sources.
Able to optimize database designs, queries, and maintenance.
Identify relevant trends and quickly identify drivers in the data, prepare reports & visualizations, develop dashboards to track project metrics. May conduct simple statistical data analysis.
Create and maintain technical documents such as data dictionary, quality control procedures, user guide, etc.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
