Summary of Position: |
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist with the daily operations of the sports medicine program and help prevent, treat, and rehabilitate student athlete injuries. Specific team assignments, travel and administrative duties will be required. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
Master’s degree is preferred Collegiate athletics experience preferred College or professional Hockey experience preferred Additional certifications, Dry Needling, CES, PES, FMS, IASTM, Etc.. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Enforce all sports medicine and athletics department policies and procedures.
Supervise and assist in the daily operation of the athletic training facilities
Under the direction of the team physician, perform injury evaluations, rehabilitate, treat and prevent student-athlete injuries.
Travel with various athletic teams, provide practice and competition coverage as assigned.
Provide supervision and direction to student workers working in the sports medicine department.
Serve on University committees as appointed.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. |

Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: |
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with University policies and applicable laws.
Reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information. |
|
Skills and Abilities: |
Be able to lift up to 40 lbs and prolonged periods of standing.
Strong interpersonal skills, effective communicator, good time manager.
Successfully work with a diverse group of students, coaches, parents, medical personnel and University Administrators.
Be able to work under time pressure and stressful situations.
Work a variety of hours and travel extensively with various athletic teams as scheduled.
Demonstrated commitment, experience and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
