Summary of Position: |
Teach undergraduate classes for the Professional Tennis Management program. Advise students in the PTM degree program and maintain posted office hours. Guide and supervise PTM student internships. Advise PTM Student Association RSO. Assist with On-Court Development program. Take part in continuous curriculum development and improvement to maintain program standards and document via USTA, USPTA, and University Program reviews. Direct the PTM program in compliance with University policies, procedures, and expectations. Engage in service to the University, College, and community. Participate in professional development activities. Market the program and recruit students. Act as a liaison relating to the PTM program, Men & Women’s Tennis Teams, and the Athletics Department.
Anticipated start date for this position is August of 2023. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. |

Required Education: |
Master’s degree with minimum 4 years experience in any of the following: operations management, coaching, and/or tennis professional experience. OR Master’s in a business related discipline with minimum experience of 3 years of teaching, coaching, and/or tennis professional experience. |

Required Work Experience: |
Minimum 4 years of combined tennis facility management, college and/or tennis professional experience. |

Required Licenses and Certifications: |
USPTA Elite Level Certified Tennis Professional and/or PTR Level 2 Certified Tennis Professional USPTA and/or PTR member in Good Standing. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: |
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited PTM program preferred USPTA and/or PPR Pickleball certification preferred Experience playing/teaching pickleball preferred |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Recruit, teach, supervise and advise students in the Professional Tennis Management program.
Guide and supervise PTM student internships.
Advise the PTM Student Association RSO.
Assist with the On-Court Development program.
Direct the program in compliance with University policies, procedures, and expectations.
Take part in continuous curriculum development and improvement to maintain program standards and document via USTA, USPTA, and University Program reviews assuring curriculum development and enhancement to remain current with industry standards and practices.
Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly/professional development in support of their teaching in this learner-centered environment; perform service in support of the students, the program(s) and the institution; and be committed to continuous curricular enhancement in response to changing workplace needs and expectations.
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, recruitment, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Engage in service to the University, College and community.
Act as a liaison relating to the PTM program, Men & Women's Tennis Teams, and the Athletics Department.
The candidate shall demonstrate potential for effective, innovative instruction and communicate effectively both oral and written. Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
