Advertised Salary: $50,000-$55,000; Salary commensurate with education, experiences, and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)

Summary of Position: Collaborate with faculty, academic program leadership, the Perkins Grant Liaison, and Retention and Student Success (RSS) personnel to ensure a systematic approach to supporting and recruiting students in Perkins-approved degree programs. This position is funded by Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant, which Ferris State University has received for many years. The anticipated start date for this position is January of 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.  
Required Work Experience: Work experience in higher education with demonstrated commitment to helping others, working in a diverse team and problem solving. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in program coordination, project management, or student support services within higher education.  
Required Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred. Five years' experience as a grant/project manager with demonstrated pre- and post-award experience. Work experience in higher education student services, recruitment, counseling and/or Perkins-approved program areas preferred.  
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Develop and utilize systems of monitoring and reporting Perkins Core Performance Indicators (CPIs)
2. Communicate and collaborate with students and faculty regarding CPI levels
3. Utilize best practices to develop services and interventions, as necessary, to ensure the attainment of CPI levels
4. Provide advocacy, support and referral services to meet student and faculty needs
5. Coordinate special events to strengthen relationships within and between student and faculty groups
6. Collect, analyze and act upon student support data for continuous improvement
7. Develop and implement a recruitment strategy that supports Perkins CPIs
8. Coordinate/assist/participate in recruitment initiatives
9. Collect, analyze and act upon recruitment initiative data for continuous improvement
10. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area
11. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members
