Assistant Professor/Associate Professor - Primary Care- Michigan College of Optometry Big Rapids, MI 49307
Full-time, 12-month tenure-track faculty position. The successful applicant will assume duties in patient care and teaching in the clinic, classroom, and laboratories. The faculty member will be expected to develop in the areas of patient care, teaching/advising, scholarly/professional activities, and service. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising graduate professional students, participation in university and professional committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance. Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is December 2024 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest. Required: At the time of appointment, the applicant must hold the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and must either have completed an accredited optometric residency or have an equivalent degree or experience in patient care. At the time of appointment, the applicant must have or be eligible to obtain a Michigan optometry license with DPA and TPA certifications and be eligible for appointment to the clinical staff of the college. At least one year of residency experience, or 5 years of consistent clinical experience post-graduation if no residency was completed, or commensurate work/professional experience.
DCCL Texas Cohort Program Facilitator Fully Online/Remote (Adjunct Faculty)
The individual will support DCCL students in the Texas cohorts throughout their tenure in the program by: Communicating periodically with students and referring them to DCCL and Ferris State University resources as needed. Providing onsite supervision and coordination for each of the 15 courses in the program during the face-to-face class sessions. Coordinate on-site logistics as required. Participating in comprehensive interviews and presentations (CIPs) and hooding and commencement is required. Esports Teams Coordinator Big Rapids, MI 49307
This position will develop and ensure the success of Ferris' Competitive Esports program and is in charge of recruiting student-players, managing the budget, overseeing the general operations, coaching, and building the program identity. Duties include supervising student staff and student-players, overseeing the daily operations of the esports arena, coordinating broadcast productions of esports competitions, and coordinating esports events hosted by Ferris State University. The preferred candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Travel for team tournaments and recruiting will be required.
