Summary of Position: The Human Resources Data/Process Analyst Specialist is responsible for the consistent delivery of a broad range of HR support and performs a variety of Human Resources functions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in cross-functional HR projects, and new initiatives. This individual must display a commitment to providing superior customer service and value working with a diverse constituency. The incumbent is expected to have exceptional critical thinking, and analytical skills; with the ability to work independently with little supervision. This individual works as an integral member of the Human Resource team in identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate must be responsive, excel at problem solving, and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. This position reports to the AVP/Chief Human Resources Officer.

Required Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Management.  
Required Work Experience: • Three years recent experience in Human Resources, successfully performing analytical type work.
• Demonstrated proficiency with technology and ability to perform advanced functions in MS Office Suite and a employee management system.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: • SHRM – CP or PHR
• Experience with complex data analysis.
• Experience in a higher education or union environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Banner or PageUp.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Analyze current human resource business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
2. Design and implement new business processes that reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve customer experience.
3. Work with other HR Team members to develop and maintain standard operating procedures for human resource processes.
4. Oversee and audit electronic personnel file document uploads.
5. Primary contact and trainer for employees hired in to HR Specialist and HR Generalist roles in the department.
6. Troubleshoot and find solutions for employee access issues, partnering with other departments as needed.
7. Responsible for early access and affiliate processing.
8. Responsible for reporting functions for human resources, including writing or developing complex reports for internal and external request.
9. Functional lead for data integrity and audit process.
10. Complete annual and other surveys.
11. Recruit, recommend for hire, and manage students assigned to human resources, including individual work assignments and payroll approvals.
12. Functional lead and primary contact for technical support and improvement in the PageUp system.
13. Maintain Electronic Personnel Action Form function and users in Banner system.
14. Provide excellent customer service, be responsive to inquiries, and work to identify and resolve problems. This includes being the primary individual responsible for the HR@ferris.edu email account and Human Resource main phone line.
15. Works with the AVP/CHRO to process written communications provided to employees, including but not limited to, total compensation and annual salary letters.
16. Participate in, or chair, various committees as assigned.
17. Guide faculty and staff in compliance with policies/procedures and contract language.
18. Maintain cooperative professional relationships with applicants, employees, peers, supervisors, managers, and the community in general, while projecting a professional image through in-person, email, and telephone interaction.
19. Maintain compliance with university policies, federal, state and local regulations related to HR responsibilities, including required employment posters.
20. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with University policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
21. Maintain confidentiality of appropriate HR and employee information.
22. Consistently demonstrate high standards of responsibility with integrity by supporting the FSU mission, vision, and core values.
23. Perform other related duties and functions as assigned.
24. Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
25. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
 
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Assist and serve as a functional back-up for all other critical Human Resources functions including employment, benefits, student employment, and compensation.
2. Provide back-up support for data security functions and year end roll.
3. Provide coordination and support for training and other Human Resources sponsored projects and events.

3. Communicating orally and in writing, including demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting documents, writing reports, and speaking effectively to individuals and groups.

5. Understand and be able to navigate complexities of bargaining unit contracts.
6. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
7. Ability to have a flexible work schedule, when necessary.
8. Work cooperatively with a variety of employees, vendors, and departments.
9. Demonstrated commitment, experience and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
