Summary of Position: The Bulldog Pantry Assistant supports the daily operations of the Bulldog Food Pantrym, located in the David L. Eisler Center, by assisting with the day-to-day operations , inclusive of food distribution, organizing supplies, and providing respectful and efficient customer service to clients. This role involves working directly with clients, handling food items, and ensuring the pantry is well-organized and efficiently run. The Bulldog Pantry is expected to be open and need to be staffed from 1-6 pm Sunday through Thursday.  
Position Requirements: - Must be able to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends as class schedules allow.
- Displaying responsibility, initiative, confidentiality, and dependability is essential.
- Must have the ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: - Greet clients and assist them as needed in selecting food items in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Provide information about the pantry's services and eligibility requirements, and address any concerns or questions professionally.
- Maintain a positive and empathetic attitude while addressing client needs and concerns.
- Assist in managing food inventory, including checking expiration dates, sorting, stocking, and organizing food items and supplies according to established guidelines.
- Prepare and pack food bags or boxes according to established guidelines.
- Ensure that food is stored properly to maintain quality and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry area.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Maintain accurate records of food distribution and client interactions as required.
- Assist in reporting data to support pantry operations and grant reporting.
- Assist with receiving and checking in food donations and supplies.
- Support outreach efforts to increase awareness of the pantry’s services.
- Participate in community events and collaborate with local organizations as needed.
