Summary of Position: |
The English, Literature and World Language Department seeks applications for a one-year adjunct instructor 3 Spanish teaching position to teach upper-level in-person/hybrid dual-enrollment Spanish language and culture courses at high schools in the Grand Rapids area.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching, the ability to work effectively with both faculty colleagues and students, and participation in other functions of academic significance.
Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
The start date of this position is August 2025. |

Preference given to applicants with Ph.D. or ABD in Spanish, linguistics, Hispanic cultural studies, or a related field; and/or with ACTFL Advanced High or Superior fluency level |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
Faculty members also have professional responsibilities that may include continuing professional development; participation in curriculum development and university committees; orientation, recruitment, and registration of students; keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
Operates university motor or personal vehicles safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
Cultivates an environment of belonging that values, respects, supports, and celebrates individual similarities and differences, allowing students, faculty and staff to thrive authentically.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
