Advertised Salary: Assistant Professor: $105,000–$115,000, Associate Professor: $115,000–$130,000, Full Professor: $145,000–$155,000. Salary commensurate with education, experiences, and other requirements. Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.)

Summary of Position: • This is a tenure-track, 12-month position for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Pharmacology in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy.
• We encourage individuals with a strong commitment to student-centered education and the teacher/scholar model to apply.
• Teaching responsibilities will include core courses in the foundations of pharmacotherapy and the integrated pharmacotherapy course sequence sequence at both Big Rapids and Grand Rapids campus Candidates will also be expected to provide academic support and coordinate team-taught courses. Additionally, the successful candidate may teach an elective course in their area of expertise.
• Engagement in individual or collaborative research projects, as well as scholarship involving student participation, will complement teaching responsibilities. Other duties will include contributing to the department, college, university, and profession through participation on committees, and providing professional advising and mentoring to students. Ongoing professional development will also be expected.
• Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
• The anticipated start date of this position is June 2025 at the earliest and August 2025 at the latest.

Required Education: • Ph.D. in Pharmacology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences with emphasis in pharmacology.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: • Post-Doctoral Experience: Completion of a post-doctoral fellowship is preferred.

• Academic Rank: Candidates who currently hold an advanced rank (Associate or Full Professor) at their institution are preferred. Alternatively, candidates should provide evidence of effective teaching and scholarly achievement through publications and research in their discipline.
• Pharmacy Degree and Licensure: A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, along with appropriate licensure, is desired.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Teach and coordinate courses in the integrated curriculum of the Pharm.D. program using effective instructional technology and teaching methods that focus on active student engagement, including team teaching environments. Candidate is expected to teach at both the Big Rapids and Grand Rapids campuses.
• Teach and coordinate elective courses in areas of expertise.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance of assigned coursework.
• Maintain posted office hours that are convenient for students.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Engage in scholarly activity consistent with the teacher-scholar model, establishing an innovative, collaborative research program involving students.
• Conduct scholarly activity and publish in professional journals.
• Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
• Serve on department, college, university, and professional committees.
• Pursue service and professional development activities.
• Maintain the highest level of ethical standards and confidentiality in all duties performed.
• Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include advising students, orientation, and registration of students, participating in university committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (eg. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.
• Reports directly to the Department Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Maintains the confidentiality of designated information.
• Performs all duties in compliance with applicable University policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
• Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

• Participate in university committees and traditional academic functions, such as reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time.
