Summary of Position: The Assistant Tennis Coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of planning, organizing and supervising a highly competitive NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis program. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and energy. Also, must be committed to the Ferris State University Athletic Department's vison and core values of collaboration, diversity, ethical community, excellence, learning and opportunity.
This is a nine-month position from September 1st to May 30th that will work approximately 22 hours a week.

Required Education: Bachelors Degree  
Required Work Experience: At least two years of intercollegiate playing experience, or coaching collegiate tennis or high school tennis.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:    
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Assist Head Coach in recruitment of qualified student athletes. Coordinate on-campus recruiting visits. Assist Head Coach in organizing, planning, programming and help run camps and clinics for recruitment purposes. Assist with on-court coaching and match preparation. Monitor the physical and academic development of both men's and women's tennis student- athletes. Assist in coordinating and running practices in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. Mentor student- athletes and monitor their overall mental health. Assist with fundraising efforts. Assist in preparing travel and game itineraries. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Skills and Abilities: Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
