  • Adjunct Faculty - Interior Design in Grand Rapids, MI 49503

    Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), evaluation of student performance, submission of mid-term and final grades on the FSU Banner system, and archiving of both course material and student work as requested by the program chair and/or the Dean of the College. The Interior Design Program seeks to cultivate interior designers who are engaged in innovative and creative human-centered solutions that contribute to the advancement of the profession. We are looking for a designer that can help us teach the next generation about the design process and to share the skills of the profession in the classroom. The program is seeking candidates for a broad range of interior design studio courses within an established curriculum. The teaching assignment is based upon skill, demonstrated competency, and depth of understanding of the design process and the profession. Courses are to be taught in person on FSU's KCAD campus in Grand Rapids, MI. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025.

  • Assistant or Associate Professor - Mechanical Engineering Technology in Big Rapids, MI 49307

    The Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program, part of the School of Engineering and Computing Technologies (SECT), invites applications for a 9-month, tenured-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Primary responsibilities include preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met. Tenure at a previous institution is required to be hired at the rank of Associate Professor. Courses are primarily delivered face-to-face in the classroom/lab at the main campus in Big Rapids, although online delivery may be required for some courses. Additional responsibilities generally include advising students, internship coordination, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the university. Teaching at regional satellite campuses may also be required. Working with student organizations is highly encouraged. Faculty in MET are expected to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum, teaching both lower and upper undergraduate division courses in an ETAC/ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.

Current ServSafe Manager and Allergen or equivalent certifications or ability to obtain certifications within 90 days of employment.     Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to; providing responsible teaching, supervision, and management of the GSRP blended classroom in conjunction with overall Center policies and procedures.. Required: All candidates must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). In addition candidates must meet one of the approved options (A, B or C) as defined in rule R 400.8210 (5) and (6) found in the MiLEAP Child Care Licensing Rules Option A: 1 year of experience and 3 hours of MiRegistry approved training in each of the following: (a) Program Management. (b) Observation, documentation, and assessment. (c) Teaching and learning. AND 6 hours of MiRegistry approved training in any of the following areas: (a) Interactions and Guidance. (b) Challenging Behaviors. (c) Trauma Informed Practices; Option B: 6 months minimum experience and 6 semester hours, 9 CEUs, or a combination to equal 90 clock hours of coursework in: Child Care Administration, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, A Child-Related Field. Up to 30 hours of MiRegistry approved training may be used to meet these requirements; Option C: 6 months minimum experience and One of the following: A valid child development associate credential, Montessori credential, Infant Family Associate Credential, Associate degree or higher in any field of study. AND 3 hours of MiRegistry approved training in each of the following: (d) Program Management. (e) Observation, documentation, and assessment. (f) Teaching and learning. AND 6 hours of MiRegistry approved training in any of the following areas: (d) Interactions and Guidance. (e) Challenging Behaviors. (f) Trauma Informed Practices. Current First-aid and CPR (child and adult) or ability to obtain by time of appointment. Two years work experience working in a structured early childhood environment. Demonstrated proficiency in managing challenging and/or stressful situations.
